It was quite a while ago when I first visited Shiratoriya Saketen. It was when I started to become interested in sake and dropped by casually.
The moment I entered the store, what caught my eye was the vast array of sake bottles. The beautifully shining bottles beckoned me in.

The appeal of Shiratoriya Saketen is not just the selection of sake. The warm personalities of the owners, the husband and wife, are one of the reasons why I love this store.
They both have a deep love for sake and always greet me with a smile.
While chatting about this and that, they help me find the perfect sake for me.
A place that teaches me what I like
At Shiratoriya Saketen, I often purchase brands such as “Kangiku,” “Eikofuji,” “Haneya,” “Suigyoku,” and “Hanamura.”
All of them are sweet with a rich ginjo aroma. The fruity and gorgeous aroma, the smooth and gentle taste are my favorites.
Of course, there are many other delicious brands such as “Kameizumi,” “Dassai,” “Shichida,” “Zaku,” and “Yukinobousha.”
I want to go even if it’s a little far
Actually, since I moved, it’s become a bit of a distance to Shiratoriya Saketen. Even so, I visit once or twice a month.
Of course, I can encounter delicious sake, but the conversations with the owners are also precious time for me.
For me, Shiratoriya Saketen is not just a liquor store. It is like a precious teacher who teaches me various things through sake.
