The other day, I finally got to enjoy a special beer I had been looking forward to! On a beautiful sunny day, I went cherry blossom viewing with a homemade bento box and a friend. Of course, delicious drinks are a must-have for such occasions! So, I chose the Yebisu beer that I had been curious about for a while! What’s more, it has a very special design by Hirohiko Araki, the creator of “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure”! ✨
I saw it when it was a hot topic and thought, “I definitely want to get this!” I hesitated between the 500ml and 350ml sizes at the store, but I decided to go with the 350ml for this time 😉.
My Encounter with JoJo and Unforgettable Memories
“JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” is a very memorable work for me. It all started when a friend from my early career lent me the entire set of manga volumes, and I became completely hooked on its epic story! Actually, until then, I didn’t know much about the first and second parts, but when I told my friend, they said with enthusiasm, “It’s a waste not to have read it! In fact, you’re lucky that you still get to enjoy it from now on!” and immediately lent me all the volumes. Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy the entire JoJo universe from beginning to end. I am truly grateful 🙏.
By the way, if you ask me what my favorite story arc is, I would undoubtedly say Part 4! I love the sense of everyday life with a touch of the extraordinary, and the relatable feeling, which in turn creates a strong sense of suspense and excitement that I just can’t get enough of 💕.
Thoughts on Japanese Culture and Hopes for the Future of Sake
I somehow ended up getting really excited talking about JoJo… (laughs). But manga and anime are truly Japanese cultures that are loved all over the world, aren’t they? Looking at the wonderful design of this Yebisu beer, it suddenly struck me. I thought, wouldn’t it be wonderful if sake also incorporated more of these appealing designs and became beloved by people all over the world? ✨
As someone who loves fruity and floral fragrant sake and sake with a gentle mouthfeel, I feel that beautifully bottled sake makes me feel happy just by holding it, and I also want to share it on social media! I’m sure the people at the breweries put their hearts and souls into making each bottle of sake… Imagining that makes me even more interested in sake 😊.
