Around this time, sake breweries all over Japan open up their usually off-limits spaces for special events called “Kura-biraki” (brewery openings), where you can taste freshly pressed new sake. In some areas, these events are super lively, like a spring festival, packed with locals and sake fans!
This time, I’m super excited to share all the best sake events happening near Tokyo and Saitama in April 2025, all from my perspective as Blogger Eye! 🌸 Enjoy a Perfect Sake Day in Tokyo! Toyoshima-ya Festa 2025
First up is the “Toyoshima-ya Festa 2025” at Toyoshima-ya Brewery, a long-established sake maker in Higashimurayama City, Tokyo! 📅 It’s scheduled for Sunday, April 27th, 2025, starting at 11:00 AM.
Looking at how it’s been in the past, this isn’t just your average tasting event – it’s a real “Festa,” just like the name says! There’s food, music, movies… it’s all about enjoying sake in combination with different kinds of fun stuff! It sounds like it’ll be buzzing with energy, just like a live music venue! 🎤✨
It sounds like a fantastic event where locals and sake lovers can come together and enjoy sake in their own way. You can’t help but get excited wondering what new things you’ll discover!

Next, I’m going to introduce some really cool brewery opening events happening at sake breweries in Saitama Prefecture!
🌸 Moro-yama Town, Iruma District: Asahara Brewery Opening
Asahara Brewery in Moro-yama Town, Iruma District, will be holding their brewery opening on April 12th, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM!
Here’s a great deal – for just 500 yen, you get a Sasahana glass and can taste all the sake you want! It’s awesome that you can easily try different kinds of new sake and liqueurs! They’ve also got fun things planned like brewery tours, sake tasting quizzes, and even a rock-paper-scissors tournament, so even sake newbies can feel comfortable and have a good time. They’ll also have light meals like stewed tripe and grilled chicken skewers, and their own craft beer will be available at special prices. Sounds like a lineup that any drink lover would be thrilled about! 🍻 Plus, there’s a shuttle bus running from Tobu Railway’s “Higashi-Moro Station,” so getting there is easy.
🌸 Saitama City: Koyama Honke Brewery Opening
Koyama Honke Brewery, located in Saitama City, will be having their brewery opening on April 13th, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM!
One thing to look out for is the free factory tour – no reservation needed! Koyama Honke Brewery is one of the biggest sake breweries in the Kanto region, so isn’t it exciting to explore the inside of such a large, factory-like brewery that you don’t normally get to see? It’s like stepping into a secret place! 😍
The barrel opening ceremony and the free tasting of barrel-aged sake and sweet sake (amazake) also sound really interesting! 😋 On top of that, there will be food vendors, paid tastings of limited-edition brewery-only sake, glass etching experiences, and sales of sake and sake lees. They’re even holding a sake lecture that you can reserve a spot for, which is perfect for anyone who wants to learn more about sake!
🌸 Chichibu City: Chichibu Nishiki “Sake Brewing Forest” Brewery Open House Festival
At Chichibu Nishiki’s “Sake Brewing Forest” in Chichibu City, their brewery open house festival will be held on Saturday, April 13th, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM!
This is a precious chance to tour the Chichibu Nishiki brewery, which has an amazing track record of winning the gold prize at the National New Sake Appraisal for seven years in a row! You can taste freshly made new sake, and they’ll even have a big tasting event where you can be among the first to try their upcoming Daiginjo and Junmai Ginjo! 🍶✨
Plus, there will be a tasting comparison of aged sake matured for over a year, all-you-can-stuff sake lees, brewery tours, a Q&A session with the master brewer – it’s packed with fun stuff for sake lovers!
